Salvonaris is an independent agency with an aim of giving positive volunteering experiences. Our agency operates along Kenya's Coast province and the Island of Zanzibar.
Kenya's coastal people informally referred to as coasterians and the people of Zanzibar known as Zanzibarians are very warm, friendly and talkative. Strangers striking up a conversation whilst waiting for a matatu(common mode of transport) is common happening. Volunteers are exposed to Africa's rural and urban way of life. Such an opportunity of seeing both ends of the spectrum gives lifelong experiences and may lead to creating long-lasting friendships.
In order for Volunteers to reap the full benefit of donating their time, the Salvonaris team is constantly present in offering its experience and expertise about the region and its people. We recommend Volunteers to take short trips. This is normally easy to arrange. Remember Volunteering is also fun! There are many interesting places to visit along the Coast. Just jump in a Matatu and find yourself embedded in ancient history for a few tranquil moments. From Fort Jesus in Mombasa to the Vasco da Gama Pillar in Malindi, or perhaps a holiday away from the Coast to visit Africa's highest peak-Mt. Kilimanjaro. See and taste the colourful life of Eastern Africa.
Given our team's years of experiences in Africa, we are well prepared to assist with moral and practical support. Remember your dedication, your knowledge and your sense of responsibility shall be of benefit to the community. Start donating your time.
